HDMI port failure is a very common issue on early model PlayStation 4 consoles. This is caused by poor design on these units where the pins in the HDMI port are not integrated into the frame. These models frequently suffer from pushed back or broken pins which renders the PlayStation 4 incapable of any video output. In certain cases the user might hear sound but see no picture on the screen.
